Starting as soon as possible, located in Cambodia, Phnom Penh or other City.

Contract period: May 1, 2022 to April 30, 2023 (with option to extend).

Scope: 70% position

In the framework of the project www.polyurbanwaters.org the following position is available from May 1, 2022:

  • Scientific and organizational management of the process “water sensitive urban development Kratie” in coordination with the overall BORDA management of the project
  • Coordination of the Cambodian partners and interface management with the partners in Germany and SEA
  • Leadership in the development of the baseline study Kratie and visioning “water sensitive Kratie” in coordination with overall project management
  • Data collection and information gathering/assessment of selected fields of action for water-sensitive urban development in Cambodia
  • Organization and management of workshops at the kratie and national level
  • Collaboration and elaboration of studies and guidelines for water-sensitive urban development in Kratie
  • Support of scientific teams in data collection Kratie resp. Cambodia
  • Support in the organization of local and regional workshops
  • Communication with stakeholders on municipal, provincial and national level
  • Financial planning and financial monitoring Cambodia
  • Qualifications:
    At least 10 years of experience in designing municipal processes for water management, sustainable urban development, community engagement, and managing multi-stakeholder processes
  • Experience in developing studies, guidelines, vulnerability analyses, and designing multi-stakeholder engagement processes at the community level and in national contexts
  • Differentiated knowledge of governance structures in Cambodia
    Design and implementation of complex capacity development process at community level
  • Senior experience in managing international cooperation projects in cooperation with international organizations
  • Language skills: English and Khmer
  • Location: Cambodia, regular stays in Kratie and Phnom Penh
